WORKSHOP EVENT
Discover the elegance of Japanese ink painting at our Sumi-e Workshop during Matsuri Brisbane 2025!
In this 30-minute session, you’ll learn to paint Ayu fish and willow tree on a traditional fan with step-by-step guidance—ideal for beginners and art lovers.
To ensure a quality experience, only four sessions will be held this year, each limited to 16 participants (①11:30–12:00, ②12:15–12:45, ③13:00–13:30, ④13:45–14:15).
Tickets are $18 and include all materials. At the end of the workshop, you can take home your hand-painted fan as a unique keepsake.

Japanese tea ceremony workshops will be provided by Hakuunan Brisbane
Time: ①11:30-12:15, ②12:30-13:15 & ③13:30-14:15. After a brief explanation and tea demonstration, the participants will get to have small dry sweets and make their own tea.
$20 including small dry sweets and Matcha tea. 20 participants for each session.

Please join us Japanese Calligraphy Workshop!
You will learn basic calligraphy techniques and create your own one-of-a-kind piece to take home. We'll begin with basic brush strokes, move on to writing a character of your choice. Finally, you'll write your name and affix a special seal to it. Beginners are welcome!
